10 Things to do and don`t do in Santorini, Greece

The beautiful island of Santorini can be your next summer destination.

10 things to do while you are visiting Santorini:

1. admire the breathtaking sunsets in Oia
2. walk on the sleeping Santorini volcano-Nea Kameni
3. visit the ancient archeological site, Akrotiri
4. romantic dinner in Fira, admiring the beautiful view of Caldera
5. ride the donkeys
6. sunbath on the colorful beaches of Santorini (red, white and black)
8. take selfies with the white traditional cave houses
9. buy traditional souvenirs made from lava
10. go sailing around near islands
10 things to not do in Santorini:

1. do not expect to be an island of party, like Mykonos. Santorini is well known for its dramatic view and unicity, but if you are looking for some fun, go to Parrisa.
2. do not visit the volcano in sandals or open shoes. Because of the hot lava around and a lot of walking, it is recommended to wear sport, closed shoes.
3. do not spend a fortune on a meal with a view in Fira or Oia. For one time it is ok, but you can find better prices in locations like Kamari, Perissa etc.
4. do not ride a donkey. The 300 stairs climbing up the hill can be very exhausting in a hot sun for both, for the donkey and yourself. 
5. do not rent an ATV/Quad Bike. Although they look more stable, they can be dangerous at turnings.
6. do not go for a swim to red beach. Yes, it is a beautiful beach to visit, but because it is small, it tends to get crowded.
7. do not drink the island`s water, because it has a slightly salted taste. It is recommended to buy some bottled water stock.
8. do not visit Santorini if you have fear of heights. It is a very high up Greek island, with narrow roads and mainly no barriers around.
9. don,t stay in Oia, you can find economic accommodation to other locations of the island.
10. do not make the trip only about selfies and social media, just take your time to live the island life, breath the Aegean air and see around the small details.
